“Tannery “LEJA” began its operations in 1992, led by Jakub Leja. Initially, the main product of the factory was garment leather. The year 2002 was a breakthrough year when the tannery, as the only one in Poland, developed technologies for hair-on bovine and calf leather. Due to the decreasing demand for leather for clothing, in 2006 the company started modernizing its machinery and reconstructing the tannery to meet the necessary standards for the production of shoe upper bovine and calf leather. In 2013, the Tannery started producing natural  and finished vegetable-tanned leathers.
